Red Banyan CEO Evan Nierman is featured in The Hill in an article that discusses how domestic violence victims are the real losers in the high-profile Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation trial, which ended on June 1st.
In the article, Nierman points out that Depp prevailed in court by discrediting his ex-wife but notes that both actors’ reputations are forever tarnished by lurid details that were made public during the six-week trial.
Nierman explains that people who claim to have been abused had better make sure they can back up their claims and prove the accusations are rooted in fact or face severe consequences. Heard ultimately became a cautionary tale that it is risky business to paint yourself as a victim when there is clear evidence that you may actually be the abuser, Nierman says.
