Red Banyan CEO Evan Nierman was recently featured in The Wrap discussing the dire image problems that plague the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The organization that hands out the annual Golden Globe Awards has been dogged for months by accusations of systemic racism and corruption.
In the article, Evan says the HFPA “will need to rethink every aspect of their organization if they want to remain relevant and reputable.”
The group is on the hotseat after the diversity and public relations experts it hired to address its image problems recently quit, and a racist email was leaked.
“You can’t just put a Band-Aid on a bullet wound,” Evan told The Wrap. “They are going to have to do surgery, and they are going to have to do a lot of rehabilitation. Half measures aren’t going to work.”
Evan is a recognized authority in crisis communications and a sought-after source by the national press.
