Red Banyan Founder and CEO Evan Nierman, a father of two high schoolers, discusses the benefit of using high tech metal detectors in Broward high schools in an op Ed in the Palm Beach Post.

In the article, Evan notes the potential benefits of the new technology that was recently approved by Broward Schools. The system  uses a sensoring system to differentiate cell phones and keys from guns and knives similar to one that is already in use in Palm Beach County.

“Doing nothing is a crisis in the making. Having a plan in place before you need one is the best way to circumvent disaster. And any crisis response plan can be improved over time,” Evan writes in the article.
