Red Banyan founder and CEO Evan Nierman was quoted by Business Insider in a story on how Taylor Farms, the lettuce supplier tied to a nationwide cyclospora outbreak, mishandled its messaging by leading with a claimed FDA apology over a false-positive test.
Nierman said the company put itself in a precarious position because the FDA had not confirmed the apology, and that by making the alleged apology central to its statement, Taylor Farms essentially invited scrutiny of whose version of events was accurate.
