Red Banyan CEO Evan Nierman was quoted by CNN in a story on how Taco Bell is handling a cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to shredded lettuce at some Midwestern locations, which the CDC has tied to more than 1,600 cases.
Nierman said customers do not expect a global supply chain to be perfect but do expect candor, urgency, and accountability when something goes wrong, and that whether this becomes lasting reputational damage will depend far more on Taco Bell’s response than on the contaminated lettuce itself.
