Red Banyan CEO Evan Nierman was quoted by HuffPost on the backlash over Martha Stewart’s ad for the GLP-1 pill Foundayo, which discloses that Stewart does not take the drug.
Nierman said neither Eli Lilly nor Stewart has much to worry about, noting that celebrities promote products they don’t use every day and that Stewart’s likability and age demographic fit the target audience. He added that the ad’s nudge to consult a physician frames it as educational cover rather than a hard sell, and that a little controversy helps the campaign break through the noise.
