The EPS Industry Alliance (EPS-IA) is the North American trade association for the expanded polystyrene (EPS) industry. Its members include more than 50 businesses located in 44 states. EPS-IA engaged Red Banyan to counteract accelerated efforts by an influential organization opposing its industry and to address federal and state legislation affecting polystyrene.

Action:

Red Banyan implemented a range of tactics to protect the EPS-IA industry in alignment with circular economy practices. The approach included developing a comprehensive communications strategy to address negative perceptions, drive positive press coverage, leverage data analytics, and design effective messaging that emphasizes the industry’s commitment to environmental sustainability and highlights the crucial role of EPS in products people rely on every day, such as packaging, insulation, safety equipment, etc.
