Challenge:
This client, a communications provider, with the goal of expanding its market reach and technology, was preparing to announce the acquisition of a technology service. This technology service is currently used by this communications provider as well as their competitors, making it imperative that all parties understand that both businesses would be separated ethically in terms of all data, pricing, customer information, etc. and their privacy placed as a priority. This communications provider also intended to keep all employees through the acquisition and their main goal was to project transparency and dependability to their audiences.
Action:
The Red Banyan team, after gaining a full understanding of the company’s mission before the acquisition and goals following it, began drafting a thorough communications package personally tailored to each audience. The goal of this messaging was to address all internal and external stakeholders, providing them with the necessary information about privacy protection, forward-facing goals, and easing any concerns that may arise. Included in that communications package was a joint press release, letters for each stakeholder audience, social media messaging, and a preemptive media statement.
In addition to that messaging, the team also created a comprehensive roll-out plan and distribution timeline in preparation for the announcement that detailed the who, what, and when so that all parties were properly prepared for the announcement day.
