Social Media & Communications Coordinator

Reports to Sales Director

Job Purpose
Deliver data-driven results showing dramatic increases in Red Banyan’s follower count and audiences across multiple social media platforms. Produce daily written and visual content and increase engagement in terms of views, likes, shares, visibility, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Social Media Coordinator possesses the skills to create compelling content and spark enhanced engagement online while creating PR opportunities for the company overall. He/She must also demonstrate the capacity to consistently think and act strategically and proactively.

  • Manage multiple social media accounts for the company and its CEO, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram
  • Produce/edit short video clips that can be utilized across multiple channels
  • Write daily content related to crisis PR and other communications best practices, including analyzing and commenting upon trending stories in the news
  • Design visually compelling graphics to share across social media
  • Develop concrete metrics for measuring progress
  • Tracking and analyzing posts to quantify increases in exposure, followers and engagement
  • Continually generate creative ideas for video and written posts
  • Evaluate ongoing campaigns to measure success while adjusting as necessary to achieve results
  • Help increase the company’s public profile, brand, presence and reputation by executing Red Banyan’s PR Scope of Work, which involves media relations and securing speaking opportunities
  • Draft valuable and engaging content for the company website and blog

Education or Equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism or related field

Knowledge/Skills Requirements

  • Embodies each of Red Banyan’s core values
  • Extremely organized with solid project management skills
  • Solid understanding of social media marketing
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to move quickly, troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and strong familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Basic graphic design skills
  • Experience using social scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprinklr.
  • Self-motivated with an unwavering attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree
