Senior Account Executive (SAE)

Reports to Managing Director

Job Purpose

Maintain and grow existing and new client relationships by embodying Red Banyan’s five core values—Results, Integrity, Commitment/Can-Do Attitude, Accountability and Speed.

Duties & Responsibilities

The SAE has a very strong grasp of the tactical execution of public relations campaigns and continues to develop and refine strategic skills. While AEs and SAEs should both achieve results for clients and fulfill the deliverables outlined in each contract, SAEs must also demonstrate the capacity to consistently think and act strategically and proactively.

  • Lead client teams, serving as the client-facing representative of Red Banyan
  • Provide creative and strategic communications counsel to clients
  • Collaborate with team members to produce high-quality deliverables and fulfill all day-to-day client project work
  • Mentor and manage junior team members
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers while also uncovering new outlets and opportunities for clients
  • Create and maintain targeted press lists
  • Follow key trends by keeping abreast of each client’s industry, competition and coverage
  • Proactively develop and pitch story topics to journalists and follow-up with editorial opportunities
  • Write original content, including news releases and pitch letters, op-eds, feature articles, blogs, web content, memos and marketing collateral
  • Address incoming media inquiries from a broad range of journalists
  • Manage social media channels, including creating/posting/editing content and working to build audiences
  • Oversee client reporting as required (quarterly, monthly, biweekly etc.)

Qualifications

Education or Equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of public relations agency or relevant experience
  • Prior experience working with Israeli/Jewish organizations and non-profits

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent, proven writing skills – Finalist candidates will be given timed writing exercises to complete
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Ability to supervise the work of others
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to move quickly, troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Solid understanding of social media
  • Trusted to discreetly and competently handle confidential and sensitive client information
  • Mid-level working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
  • Hebrew language skills a plus
