Competition for the award was stiff. Red Banyan was chosen from a field of nearly 100 finalists based on future growth potential. The group of Honorees represented 20 different counties and 20 different industries in Florida, with nearly 50 percent of the Honorees being owed by women, veterans or minorities.
Among the criteria used to judge business were impact of the business in the job market; increase in sales and/or unit volume; innovativeness of the product or service; growth in number of employees; and current and past financial reports; response to adversity and contributions to aid community-oriented projects.
