Red Banyan CEO Evan Nierman was recently quoted by the International Business Times about the flow of information during the current coronavirus epidemic.

The article approached the current alarm over the coronavirus from a historical perspective, comparing it to the 1918-19 Spanish flu pandemic that killed 20 to 50 million people worldwide.

“During the Spanish flu pandemic, the government either limited the flow of information or actually disseminated misinformation to the public,” Nierman said.

In the article he compares the lack of information during the Spanish flu pandemic to the level of transparency seen today from organizations like the CDC as they take steps to reduce the spread of the disease.
